Today my new activity was to write a lullaby for my baby boy Anders Otis. Luke was home from work, which allowed me some free time to myself. While I was driving to the post office, I got this idea for my song. I pulled over. There, on Massachusetts Avenue, I wrote my son a song. The only problem is, I plan to let you all hear it when I've got some guitar music to go with it. Ok, that's not the only problem. The other problem is that I don't play too well (mostly, at all.) There is a solution. My neighbor is an excellent guitarist and teaches at Harvard. I plan to ask him to help me come up with music to accompany my lyrics. Though guitar knowledge is limited, hopefully we'll be able to come up with something simple enough for me to play on my own. I will post a video of it once its all complete.
And just because this new lifestyle makes me want to say YES to things:
While driving through town I saw a small gift shop. I pulled over and decided another new thing I'd do for the day is to give a small business- business. I am so glad I did! The lady who worked behind the counter was very friendly and I found the perfect gift for my husband:
The Mr. series by Roger Hargreaves were Luke's favorite books. I selected these ones because they remind me of our son. Anders is happy, vocal and because he was born two weeks late, I'd say he's pretty slow!
I think what I learned today was that in life- sometimes you just have to pull over :)

You're definitely great at writing your own songs, which is obvious from your singing voice messages. And I love the idea about giving business to a small business. Just added that to my list... hope that's ok to take one of your ideas!
